About Complete Forestry Service
Complete Forestry – a forestry and wildlife consulting service – opened its doors for business in the spring of 1997. With more than eighteen years in the forestry industry, Tommy McDonald made the decision to take his extensive knowledge of the forestry industry and help landowners and investors manage their natural resources.
Tommy has always had a reputation for integrity and a sincere concern for everyone. He understands that doing the right thing is always the right thing to do. These are the principles that Complete Forestry is founded on.

Tommy McDonald
Tommy McDonald is a registered forester in Georgia and Alabama with 30 years of experience in forestry and the forest industry. 
For 18 years, Tommy worked with Georgia-Pacific Corporation. He began in Monticello, Georgia working as a procurement forester. He then moved to Madison, Georgia where he worked as an Area Forester.
Next, he was promoted to Auburn, Alabama as District Manager and finally to Columbus, Georgia as Unit Manager over timberland management and timber buying activities.
This responsibility covered Alabama and Georgia, supplying timber to paper mills in the southeast and various plywood mills and sawmills across the region.
He managed many company operations that were critical for the success of their respective mills along with being responsible for timber flow from an area across Georgia and Alabama. He was also responsible for managing foresters, forest technicians and over 250,000 acres of company owned timberland.
Tommy has extensive experience with forest and wildlife management. His experience includes managing pine plantations as well as natural pine and hardwood timberland. He managed one of the largest contiguous hardwood forests for G-P in the Flint River basin.
Tommy was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia and is a graduate of Columbus High School. He is a 1979 graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. degree in Forest Management. His continuing education includes numerous management, finance, and forestry tax courses. He continually attends forestry and wildlife educational courses to improve his forest management and wildlife knowledge.
Tommy is a current member of the Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences Advisory Council. He has been a member of The Georgia Forestry Association and The Alabama Forestry Association along with being a member of the local Pine Mountain Chapter of The Society of American Foresters.
Jon McDonald
Jon is the newest addition to Complete Forestry Service. He joined his Father Tommy in the family business on August 11, 2008.
Jon was born in Winder, Georgia on February 14, 1985, moved to Auburn, Alabama in 1990 and then moved to Columbus, Georgia in 1993. Jon graduated from Columbus High School in 2003 and went to Auburn University on a baseball scholarship. After a career-ending arm injury, Jon decided to follow his Father in forestry school. Jon graduated from Auburn with a B.S. in Forest Management on August 9, 2008. Jon is knowledgeable in wildlife management and prescribed burning practices through his work on family property in Russell County, Alabama.
He is a member of the Society of American Foresters and participates with the War Eagle Chapter.
Jon bought a home in Auburn, Alabama where he currently lives with his lab, Molly.
